Transformations: natural curly girl

Many people want to know what is the secret to frizz control, now unless you are straightening your hair then the answer moisture. Frizzy hair is really dehydrated curls thirsty for a lil TLC and lots of moisture.
This is Cassie and she has beautiful natural curls, she asked me to shape and teach her to style her hair so she gets more definition.

Cassie before

After shaping and before cleansing and styling.

Here is Cassie after, I cleansed with devacurl no poo a sulfate free cleanser gentle and conditioning to the hair. Afterwards I used devacurl one conditioner to hydrate and style. As you may use this conditioner as a leave in, I worked it through with a good amount of water considering and she wanted less frizz and more definition.

And finally a happy curly girl sporting her most delectable accessory.

Transformations

If you ask me what it is that I like about what I do, I would tell you it's the transformation process of it all and absolutely the final corollary. Many of us will stand in front of a mirror and neglect to see the real beauty God has given us.  I for one several years ago after relentlessly damaging my hair do to relaxers, trying to appear like someone that I am not, made the courageous decision to grow my hair out naturally in the way that God had intended it for me.  Surprisingly of course with a lot of encouragement, and floundering with many of my colleagues I learned that I was more attractive, youthful, and happier with my natural curly hair.
For me it was a life changing experience that I would love you for many to share with me...  As a hairdresser and curly hair specialist I have been able to transform not just the look or style, but the lives of so many other women and men alike. Like myself they too could not believe that they could look and feel so good in the nature of their hair the hair that is one if not the greatest accessory to any woman's look, and if you don't believe me here are some before and after looks of some women and men I have had the pleasure to work on.

Curly girls have the most fun...

I must say I love wearing my hair straight, however my natural curly hair has set me free and opened my eyes to my natural beauty allowing me to be a a whole new person, feeling younger and much more vibrant.   "straighten a curly girl, and she'll be happy for a day, teach her how to love and care for her curls and she'll be happy for life".  Currently as an apprentice at the Devachan salon in soho, NY, I have had the pleasure to learn so much about my hair and how to help others to deal with what they believe is bad/difficult hair.

Many of us curly haired women want to run and solve our frizz nappy problem with such chemicals as relaxers, japanese straightners, keratin treatments, and brazilian blowouts... If that is what would make u happy I'd say go for it, nonetheless going natural would be the best way to go>>> not only will you have beautiful healthy hair , you'll also save tons of money : ).  Many will disagree but don't knock it until you try it with the right products you too can have healthy beautiful curly hair... Here I will share some of my recent photos as a curly girl... Thank you Lorraine Massey
